VENTURA COUNTY

CA-1 Modification
The interchange with the Pacific Coast Freeway (CA-1) and Pleasant Valley Road is being modified as the first phase of a project that will provide a new north/south highway for Ventura County. After the Pleasant Valley interchange is upgraded, Rice Avenue will be upgraded to a 4-lane highway connecting to the Ventura Freeway (US-101); this corridor will eventually be upgraded to a freeway. This project will allow Oxnard Boulevard to serve the local traffic needs in the city of Oxnard, without being overburdened by regional traffic.

Santa Clara River Bridge (US-101 and CA-1) Projects

This project will replace the existing bridges for the US-101 freeway and Oxnard Boulevard (CA-1) over the Santa Clara River. When completed, a total of 12 lanes will be available on new bridges, a vast improvement over the existing 6-lane bottleneck. Interchanges with local roads will also be reconfigured.
